Mamaia  the most famous and largest beach resort of Romania is situated ca 5km from the centre of Constanta and ca 25 km from the airport. With a 8 km long sandy beach, all the modern hotels along the shore and the large range of restaurants, bars, discotheques, nightclubs etc., Mamaia is perfect for all kinds of travellers from all the corners of the world.

Families with children, youth groups and pensioners easily fall in love with Mamaia. Here you are close to everything. The distance to the beach is minimal and it is easy to move around in Mamaia with mini train, buses, bikes or taxi. Mamaia is also suitable for the ones that love to walk. One part of the road at the coast is car-free and you can cross the beach without any problems.

Mamaia is one of the best and cheapest alternatives if you are looking for a active vacation combined with sun, bath and entertainment. In Mamaia you can play tennis, minigolf, bowling, wind surfing, water bikes, biking, water skiing, horseback riding, sailing etc. We can also mention that the travel agency offers you morning excercise and other activities.

Close to the shopping mall Perla and the summer theatre you can find the park Aqua Magic  one of the largest and most modern amusement parks in Europe with a total area of 27200 squaremeter. (4000 water area).

There are few inhabitants in Mamaia. It is a peninsula which starts where Constanta town ends. Transfer from the airport in Constanta by bus takes about 30 minutes. The lokalbus from Mamaia to Constanta and back leaves several times per day. From Constanta you can take the train or local busses to most of the big cities in Romania. Taxi is cheap an it is easy to rent a car. 

Credit card is accepted in most of the bigger shops. Visa- and MasterCard machines are available in the tourist area. There is no problem to change Swedish money in both Constanta and Mamaia.
The sand beach in Mamaia is 8 kilometres and shelving. Sun chairs and umbrellas can be rented on the beach.

In Constanta town, close to Mamaia,  you can find restaurants, cafés and a life of pleasure. Average price for a two course dinner is about 7-8 Euro. One beer is about 1 Euro. Mamaia is very suitable for children with its shelving beach and no traffic by the promenade.
The climate is nice and the best period considering sun and bath is May to October.
